Daniel J Cho, CEO

Dan ChoDan is an entrepreneurial manager with more than 15 years of experience in technology commercialization and product development in cleantech and medical devices. His focus is translating innovation into the marketplace, identifying and evangelizing early adopters and distributors, and building teams for implementation. He has been relied on as a consultant in the water industry, leading the validation of an experimental water technology for IMI Vision, the R&D arm of global cooling equipment manufacturer IMI Cornelius, and performing technology and business evaluations for Pentair Water Treatment, a division of Pentair. From 2005 to 2010, Mr. Cho served as President of Rheologics, the creator the world’s most advanced blood viscometer, where he was responsible for corporate development and regulatory strategy, and oversaw product engineering and clinical development teams. He currently serves on the board of directors of Rheovector, a provider of lab services for blood viscosity testing to pharmaceutical companies and researchers. Previously, Mr. Cho was President of Vortex Aircon, a privately-held company providing energy-efficient technologies for the appliance industry, where he established licenses with GE Appliances and Samsung Electronics. A graduate of Harvard College, he is the inventor of 3 patents and authored more than 15 scientific publications.

Joe Henderson, President

Joe HendersonMr. Henderson’s executive talents have been deployed to grow successful, lucrative, high-performing companies across the country. He has demonstrated through his collaborative, aggressive leadership style the ability to marshal the capital and personnel resources needed to launch and grow companies, driving profits back to investors. He has 20 years of executive experience and in a variety of manufacturing and technology businesses. His areas of expertise include operational and executive leadership, strategic and tactical business planning, turnaround and workout execution, business development, and capital formation. He has served as President of Tribology Systems, Inc., a specialty bearings manufacturer, President of Ortlieb’s Philadelphia Beerworks, Ltd., and as a turnaround executive at large and medium-sized operating companies including Cytogen Corp. and Lansdale Mfg. Co.  Joe completed a successful assignment as Managing Director of BVI Capital Partners, where he managed the portfolio companies and oversaw growth of the acquisition portfolio and team. Prior to joining BVI, he was president of a business incubator, he ran the Philadelphia management consulting practice of a nationally-recognized accounting firm, and was an information technology manager at ICI Americas, DuPont and Boeing. Previously, Joe was Vice President of Marketing for STM Power, a cutting-edge energy technology company with numerous patents in Sterling engine technology. Joe is a Certified Management Consultant. He holds an MBA in Finance and Entrepreneurship at St. Joseph’s University and earned his a BS in Computer Science from Drexel University.

Young Cho, PhD, Chief Science Officer

Young ChoYoung, in addition to his role as CSO, serves as a tenured professor of Mechanical Engineering at Drexel University. He is a world leader in the development and use of plasma for water treatment. He is the recipient of numerous research grants from organizations such as the U.S. Department of Energy, National Science Foundation, NASA, General Electric, Chevron/Texaco and many others. In 1993, Dr. Cho was nominated by U.S. Dept. of Energy and elected as chairman of the Advanced Fluid Committee under International Energy Agency. He has held faculty and senior researcher appointments at Argonne National Lab and Newport News Shipbuilding. Young authored nearly 300 technical publications in heat transfer, fluid mechanics, and energy. Prior to Drexel, Young was on technical staff at NASA’s Jet Propulsion Lab at CalTech where he received 2 NASA Space Act Tech Awards. He holds a PhD and MS in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Illinois at Chicago and a BS from Seoul National University in South Korea.

Kim Monroe, Director of Sales

Kim MonroeMr. Monroe is a proven water treatment technology sales leader with over 30 years of experience in industrial water treatment products—the first half of his career selling chemicals and the second half selling equipment—creating water and wastewater treatment consultative sales. In addition to process and HVAC cooling water, Kim specializes in pharmaceutical, chemical, petroleum refining, power, municipal, food and beverage market segments. He serves concurrently as Managing Director of Environmental Sales Group. Previously, as a sales representative for Nalco Chemical Corp., Kim increased sales of water and wastewater treatment chemicals within his territory by 130% in the first 12 months. As an independent sales representative for U.S. Filter Corp. he sold $26 million in equipment for U.S. Filter Corp. over a period of 15 years, including a 15 million gallon per day municipal wastewater treatment system under a BOO (Build, Own & Operate) agreement. Later, as Regional Sales Manager for U.S. Filter Corp., Kim led a regional sales office concentrating on high-purity water systems and increased sales by 300% the first year without hiring additional personnel.

Fred Niell, Chief Electrical Engineer

Fred NiellMr. Niell serves as Onvector’s Chief Electrical Engineer and is responsible the design of power supplies and electronic control systems for non-chemical directed-energy water technologies. His primary focus is radio-frequency and fast pulse electronic systems, including high-voltage systems and power electronics. He serves concurrently as President and Chief Engineer at Nielltronix, Inc. His background includes particle accelerator work, high-power pulsed systems involving magnetic pulse compression, as well as RF and pulsed power systems for plasma processing for the semiconductor industry, magnetics, and high-power switch mode power supply design. He has held senior or principal engineer positions at large and small technology companies including Color Kinetics, a division of PHILIPS Lighting, General Dynamics Corp., and Diversified Technologies, Inc. Fred received degrees in physics from the University of Michigan and the University of Chicago, where he was a researcher at the Fermi National Accelerator Laboratory. Mr. Niell is a Senior Member of the IEEE and holds patents in the LED lighting and UV plasma sanitization fields.

HyoungSup Kim, PhD, Research Engineer

Hyoung Sup KimDr. Kim is a talented mechanical engineer engaged in a range of technical projects including the design, development, manufacturing, and validation testing of non-chemical water treatment systems. Prior to Onvector, he served as design engineer at Korea Heat Exchanger Ind. Co., Ltd., in South Korea, where he was focused on heat exchanger and welding process design. He earned his PhD in Mechanical Engineering from Drexel University based on his research in advanced treatment technology for produced and flowback water from hydraulic fracturing for shale oil and gas. His doctoral dissertation was entitled, “Plasma Discharges in Produced Water and Its Applications to Large Scale Flow.” He has published 16 original research articles in peer-reviewed scientific journals.
